The boat launches from Kleinbaai harbour to Dyer Island, located 8 km from shore and is completely protected for the conservation of its many resident bird species, including African penguins. In winter the boat will pass by the shark cage diving boats so you will have an excellent opportunity to see a Great White Shark. Adjacent to Dyer Island is Geyser Rock, home to a 60,000 strong Cape fur seal colony which we will visit to show you the seals close-up.
The channel of water between Dyer Island and Geyser Rock is the famous Shark Alley. This is know as the McDonalds of Gansbaai for Great White Sharks and Great White sharks are regularly seen in this channel scouting for seals.
From the Island we will head across the bay to Pearly beach to visit the resident Whales from months July - December. The Whales are normally close to shore and you may have the opportunity of getting as close a a few meters from these huge animals. Along the coastline we also regularly see dolphins.
On the tour you will have a chance to see the following:
Southern Right Whales
Great White Sharks
Southern Giant Petrels
The tour is themed on being both fun and educational. Each trip is led by experienced marine guides who will share their knowledge with you, keeping emphasis on the welfare and conservation of the animal. Responsible tourism is the main objective and we focus on conservation, education, community upliftment and safety.
